Romans 12:11: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

Time is a precious talent, given to us daily by God as a deposit, and we will be called to account for how we use it. Each moment is an opportunity to glorify Him. If we desire to prolong our lives, to gain life that measures with God's eternal life, we must nourish our minds with pure, edifying content. Time should never be wasted when it could be used for a greater purpose.

Jesus is our spiritual cornerstone, the one who reveals the Father to us. Nothing that clouds or dims the Word of God should feed our minds. We must not neglect the cultivation of our hearts, for it is our fertile ground, meant to grow in understanding, wisdom, and faith.

Time and the Mind: Maximizing Every Moment

Our success in acquiring knowledge and mental discipline depends on how we use our time. This does not depend on wealth, social status, or favorable conditions. Time, when wisely managed, opens doors for intellectual and spiritual growth, even in the smallest of moments. Consider the minutes we often waste in idle conversations, those extra morning hours spent in bed, or the time we pass waiting—whether on public transport, in line, or for an appointment. With a book in hand or a thoughtful mind, these moments could be spent learning, studying, or reflecting on God's truths.

A determined spirit, persistent effort, and careful time management can equip anyone to grow in knowledge and influence. This is how we prepare for positions of greater usefulness and responsibility in life.

The Christian's Duty: Order, Diligence, and Efficiency

It is every Christian's duty to cultivate habits of order, thoroughness, and promptness. Set a goal for how long a task should take and dedicate all efforts to complete it within that time frame. The more we exercise our will in this, the more skilled we become.

Wasting time and neglecting our intellect is sinful. Every moment spent on selfish pursuits is a loss. But when we value every moment and dedicate it to meaningful things, we find we have time to accomplish all that is necessary for ourselves and others.

As we spend money, time, energy, and opportunities, let every Christian look to God and ask for His guidance. He has given us the gift of time to glorify Him, and with His help, we can use it wisely.
